Privacy policy

Hinge Arcade · effective 22 October 2026

Hinge Arcade does not collect, store or share any personal information. The app has no accounts, ads, analytics or tracking. The only time it goes online is to ask the App Store whether a newer version is out (see below).

Location

The Stargazer game can use your approximate location to show the stars above you. It asks first, and you can say no and still play: the game then shows a sky at 45°N. Your location is used only on your phone, at the moment the sky is drawn. It is never saved and never sent anywhere.

Update check

When you open the app, it asks Apple’s App Store whether a newer version of Hinge Arcade is available, so it can offer you the update. The request names only the app and the App Store country to look in. Nothing about you or your phone is sent with it, and the app keeps only the date of the last check and any version you chose to skip. As with any request over the internet, Apple’s servers see the network address it comes from; Apple’s own privacy policy covers that.

Ratings

Now and then the app may show Apple’s own rating prompt. Any rating or review you give is handled by Apple, not by the app.

Game progress and settings

Your levels, scores and settings are saved only on your phone. Settings › Reset progress erases them, and deleting the app removes them completely.

Children

The app collects no data from anyone, including children.

Third parties

The app includes one open-source library, Siren, which runs the update check described above. It contains no analytics, advertising or tracking code. Apart from that request to Apple’s App Store, no company receives anything from the app.
